MAG accredits 40 CME providers – including 38 in Georgia and two in Tennessee – with an emphasis on community hospitals and specialty organizations
The Medical Association of Georgia Department of Education manages the accreditation process for organizations wishing to offer Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. MAG is granted its authority to accredit intrastate providers through its Recognition by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Currently, there are 40 organizations (hospitals, voluntary health organizations and specialty societies) accredited by MAG. These accredited organizations have the authority to offer physicians AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM which meets Georgia and Tennessee license renewal requirements. The Medical Association of Georgia Department of Education abides by all ACCME polices and standards.
