International Medical Graduate Section (IMGS)
The purpose of MAG’s International Medical Graduate Section (IMGS) is to encourage the support and active participation of international medical graduates in the Medical Association of Georgia and its IMGS as well as the various local/county medical societies and the American Medical Association. The IMGS provides a forum for international medical graduates in organized medicine, promotes the purpose, objectives and goals of MAG and promotes the involvement of international medical graduates in shaping the future of organized medicine.
The IMGS is led by a Governing Council has delegate seats at the MAG House of Delegates. MAG members who are international medical graduates are automatically represented in the IMGS.
Medical Student Section (MSS)
The MSS was established by MAG to serve as the policy-making body for medical students in Georgia. The Section provides an outlet for the exchange of information and ideas of mutual concern to medical students across the state.
The MSS allows for a forum in which medical students have a unified voice in organized medicine in Georgia. The MSS is led by a Governing Council and has a voting seat on the MAG Board of Directors as well delegate seats at the MAG House of Delegates. Students also have the opportunity to serve on the committees and councils within MAG.
Membership is open to any medical students attending one of the five accredited medical schools of Georgia. Student membership dues are $5.00 for four years.
MSS Application
Resident Physician and Fellows Section (RPS)
The RPS was established by MAG to provide a representation of resident opinions and ideas in organized medicine and promote the active improvement of graduate medical education.
The RPS is led by a Governing Council and has delegate seats at the MAG House of Delegates. Membership is open to any physician who is serving in an approved Georgia residency or fellowship training program. Resident/fellows physician dues are $75.00 for the duration of the physician’s residency and fellowship.

Young Physician Section (YPS)
The mission of the MAG-YPS is to strengthen the value of MAG to young physicians by:
- Being the voice of Young Physicians through policy development and advocacy.
- Promoting young physician leadership within MAG.
- Providing a forum for the education and dissemination of information unique to the needs of young physicians.
The YPS is led by a Governing Council and has a voting seat on the MAG Board of Directors as well delegate seats at the MAG House of Delegates. MAG members who are under the age of 40 or are within their first eight years of practice are automatically represented in the YPS.
