The Georgia Medical Political Action Committee (GAMPAC) is the non-partisan political action committee of the Medical Association of Georgia that was created to elect pro-medicine candidates at the state level.
GAMPAC's mission is to promote a strong and healthy physician-patient relationship and to protect the public from efforts to diminish quality patient care.
Both physicians and patients are eligible to join GAMPAC.
During the legislative session in 2009, GAMPAC supported state leaders who were focused on protecting the interests of patients and physicians on a number of key fronts, including...
- The preservation of the tort reform that was achieved in 2005
- The preservation of the Medicaid budget
- Opposing a health care provider tax
- Educating legislators on the pressing need for health insurance reform
- Promoting legislation to compel third party administrators to comply with Georgia's prompt pay statute, as well as rental networks
GAMPAC is an important way for patients and physicians to participate in the democratic process in Georgia. GAMPAC empowers you to help shape the future of medicine and health care in the state.
GAMPAC supports lawmakers who appreciate the vital role that physicians play in Georgia's health care system - legislators who understand that the patient-physician relationship is the foundation for the best health care system in the world.
We're at a pivotal point in the evolution of health care in Georgia. There isn't a better advocacy mechanism for doctors and patients in Georgia than GAMPAC.
