How We Meet Your Needs Today

The Medical Association of Georgia is more than a voice for Georgia's physicians. MAG is also an advocate, and a partner in achieving the main goals of the Association: to promote the science and art of medicine and the betterment of public health. Our efforts are directed in many ways:

  • Assist in establishing a federation of organized medicine by chartering constituent county medical societies within Georgia, and by joining with similar state medical associations to constitute the American Medical Association.
  • Promote the provision of quality medical care at a reasonable cost, with fair remuneration to the physician.
  • Encourage the maintenance of the physician-patient relationship as essential to the delivery of quality medical care.
  • Seek to assure all Georgians access to quality medical services regardless of their financial condition or geographic location.
  • Advance the scientific, socioeconomic and political knowledge of the profession so that members may better serve their patients, their community and their association.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and adhere to the principles of medical ethics set forth by the American Medical Association.
  • Support reasonable expansion of the number of persons entering the medical and allied health professions as well as assure that the best quality individuals are admitted into the professions in order to meet the established needs for such manpower in Georgia.
  • Reinforce recognition of an ongoing, life-long need for continued medical education in the art and science of medicine through participation in continuing education programs.
  • Establish and provide specific services to meet the needs of the membership.
